FACILITIES MANAGER, LES LEATHERS
Great Harbors is an active community which sponsors an array of year round events. Our most active season is the summer when families enjoy a multitude of activities, such as swimming, tennis, boating. The Art Show, Annual Barbecue, Wine Tasting and Golf Tournaments are among the favorites for adults. You may check the calendar section of this website or select one of the events below for more information.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Ann Berrigan, the new Event Manager for Great Harbors. Ann is not new to our neighborhood, she has been a summer resident of Great Harbors for over 20 years. Ann has extensive experience in event coordination with the majority of her career (16 years) having been spent working for an event planning firm located in Newburyport, MA. Her company planned and executed hundreds of events during her tenure. Ann resides in Hampstead, NH with her husband Jim and their two children Jack and Maggie.
Ann's Children have grown up summering in Great Harbors and she is very aware of how special the community and its residents are. Ann looks forward to planning exciting events for all ages for this upcoming year!
This summer will be Jim Berrigan’s ninth year as Director of Tennis for Great Harbors. Jim is the Head Coach of the Men’s and Women’s tennis programs at Babson College. Both the men and women have had great regional success the past 14 seasons under Berrigan’s guidance. He is a United States Professional Association certified professional and U.S High Performance Coach. In addition to his coaching duties at Babson, he is also the Director of the extremely popular Babson Tennis Camp, for boys and girls ages 7-15. Jim and his family are long time Great Harbors residents, living on Portside Circle during the summer since 1976. He and his wife Ann have two children, Jack and Maggie. Jim is available for private and semi private tennis lessons. You may contact Jim at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave him a message at the toll house. Tennis lessons are scheduled to begin on July 5th and will run for five weeks. The cost is $150 per child and lessons for "Little Grippers", ages 5-6, are offered for $75. Great Harbors is home to two great pools- a combination recreation/lap swimming pool and a "tiny-tots" wading pool. Our pools are under constant surveillance during operating hours by a full staff of American Red Cross-certified lifeguards and is run by our Recreation Director.
We are pleased to announce that we have hired an aquatic supervisor this summer. Marla Manning currently works for the Falmouth Beaches and will join us on a part time basis to oversee lifeguard training and lessons.
Aquatic Lessons - During the summer season, the Great Harbors lifeguards offer two four-week sessions of Learn-to-Swim Lessons for a nominal cost per session.
Classes are taught by trained Water Safety (Learn-to-Swim Lessons) & Lifeguarding (Lifeguard Training) Instructors and are approved by the American Red Cross. Payment is due in full at registration, there are no refunds for missed classes, nor any prorating of fees.
Swim Team - The Great Harbors Swim Team is a friendly and competitive team open to all Great Harbors children between the ages of 3 and 13. Whether you're a kickboarder (and even if you need a little help!) or year-round competitive swimmer- there's a place for you!
If you're interested in the swim team or have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to ask any of our lifeguards or our Recreation Director. The Swim Team Schedule for 2016 will be posted when available.
